Snorkeling with sea slugs in the Philippines

The Philippines is one of the few places in the world where snorkelers can see a huge diversity of sea slugs and nudibranchs in very shallow water. I spend quite a bit of time talking about this amazing opportunity on each departure, and then even more time looking for them to show people. On our recent snorkeling trip to the Philippines the situations was no different, and neither was the reaction. Once snorkelers see these bizarre and wonderful little critters they immediately become enamored by the color and variety that can be found on the reef. With this group, we had over half practically dedicating their time in the water to finding just sea slugs and nudibranchs. After ten days of snorkeling we had quite a portfolio and decided to put together a poster to show off many of the species that we encountered. At the end of the tour, several guests told me they have a new focus in the water and look forward to spending more time searching for these fantastic marine creatures!

Sea Slugs of the Philippines

The poster is downloadable and can be printed if that’s your thing :-). We are looking into scheduling our next snorkel trip to the Philippines in 2019, with the only remaining decision being where to go in the Philippines. Palawan or Central Visayas, stay tuned…

I’d love to purchase this poster! I think that the unfortunately-named Sea Slug is a spectacularly beautiful creature. Do you have a link for purchasing?
