Snorkeling Cenderawasih Bay!
Often referred to as the whale shark capital of the world, Cenderawasih Bay is way more than that! Located opposite Raja Ampat on Bird’s Head Peninsula, the variety of pristine marine habitats and insane numbers of fish and coral confirms that Cenderawasih Bay may just be the most biodiverse region on the planet! Join our small group of adventurous snorkelers on board our luxurious 5-star motor yacht for this incredible journey to the world’s epicenter for marine biodiversity!
Itinerary
This is an exploratory departure but will be designed to expose you to a diversity of marine habitats, the world's largest fish, whale sharks, and the incredible snorkeling sites that can be found there. Our 14-day departure in July includes two one-way flights (Jakarta - Sorong, Manokwari - Jakarta), and departs from Sorong where we will have the chance to snorkel many sites along the north coast of Bird’s Head Seascape as we cruise towards Cenderawasih Bay. The 13-day departure in August includes one round-trip flight (Jakarta - Manokwari - Jakarta) and departs from Manokwari, the gateway to Cenderawasih National Park.
We incorporate tides, moon phases, and weather into planning each itinerary to ensure we visit each site at the best times possible! The tour begins and ends in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Accommodations
We begin the design of our snorkeling-trips-of-a-lifetime around luxurious live-aboard motor yachts and stunning, spacious resorts, both offering the highest levels of service. For our departures to Cenderawasih Bay we use the Gaia Love. The hotel/resort we use in Jakarta is the Sheraton Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
What to Expect
Cenderawasih Bay is two degrees south of the Equator and weather year-round is hot and humid with occasional showers occurring in the early morning or late afternoon. Air temperature is around 86º F (30º C) during the daytime and falls slightly at night. Water temperatures average around 82º F (28º C).
