Snorkeling Papua New Guinea!
Our snorkeling tour in Papua New Guinea takes place in the overwhelmingly scenic Kimbe Bay on New Britain Island. Rich and diverse marine environments support thousands of species of tropical fishes and invertebrates! Vast fields of coral and sea grass communities as well as exposed outer reefs and deep walls the plunge to incredible depths is why we want to visit Kimbe Bay again! Please join our small group of adventurous snorkelers on board our luxurious 5-star catamaran for this incredible journey to the soft coral capital of the world!
Itinerary
Each departure is unique and hand-crafted to expose you to a diversity of marine habitats and the incredible snorkeling sites that can be found there. Snorkeling highlights in the bay include dramatic drop-offs and coral gardens of the Witu islands, black sand and sea grass of Big Malumalu, exposed reefs of Kimbe and Kepapa Islands, coral gardens of Tuare, shallow sea mounts that are sometimes only a dozen feet wide and plunge vertically on all sides, and Restorff Island for the nearly perfect tropical settings and shallow reef system around the island!
The usual disclaimer about weather and tides affecting the itinerary are only a bonus for us, since we use them to ensure we visit each site at the best times possible! Our snorkeling tour begins and ends in Port Moresby with one roundtrip internal flight (Port Moresby – Hoskins, New Britain Island).
