Snorkeling the Alor Archipelago!
The Alor archipelago is a snorkeler’s paradise where lush coral reefs thrive just below towering volcanoes and rugged coastlines, and where the diversity and abundance of tropical reef fishes is some of the highest in the world! This is the wild and exciting region of the Alor archipelago! Please join our small group of adventurous snorkelers on board our luxurious 5-star motor yacht for this incredible journey to the world’s epicenter for marine biodiversity!
Itinerary
Each departure is unique and hand-crafted to expose you to a diversity of marine habitats and the incredible snorkeling sites that can be found there. Pristine shallow coral gardens, exposed, seaward reef flats of Lembata, secluded bays, the super-fishy passages of Pantar, and the black sands of Beangabang Bay for unique marine creatures awaits us! Add volcanoes and islands made of fire against a tropical blue sea, and the chance for a variety of large and small marine mammals and that’s what Alor is all about! The usual disclaimer about weather and tides affecting the itinerary are only a bonus for us, since we use them to ensure we visit each site at the best times possible! Our snorkeling tour begins and ends in Jakarta, Indonesia, with one internal, round-trip flight.

What to Expect
Alor and the eastern Lesser Sunda Islands are located about 8 degrees south of the Equator and enjoy a tropical climate with generally sunny days and occasional early morning or afternoon showers. The large variance in water temperature reflects the influence from oceanic upwellings of cool water that affect the south side of the archipelago, tides, and wind. For more details about the Alor Archipelago, what to expect and what to bring, download the pdf brochure and check out the gallery of marine life we have seen while snorkeling in the eastern Lesser Sunda Islands!
